Police guidelines on fox hunting released under FOI

If the ban on hunting is upheld, the police may decide not to break up illegal fox hunts, reports the BBC. Instead, police guidelines released under the Freedom of Information Act suggest making a video of the hunt for future prosecution.

The guidance has been sent to all police forces and states that police can arrest fox hunters, but they are not obliged to do so.

The ban on fox hunting is expected to come into force on 18 February.
