Shortcomings of FoI legislation (part II)

More than 80 councils have dished out illegal parking tickets, David Millward has tried in vain to identify them. He writes:

"I thought it was not unreasonable to ask who these councils were. Answer came there none. I tried the Freedom of Information Act and, much to my surprise, I was told that tribunals were not covered by its provisions.

So we are left with a situation where thousands of motorists have been fined illegally but there is no way they can get redress because the adjudication service will not cough up the names of the councils who were breaking the law.

Freedom of Information? They are having a laugh."
