Shock Horror - MSP has to act like a member of the public to get information

A local MSP had to apply to the Freedom on Information Act in a bid to uncover information regarding council spend on leisure facilities in Wemyss Bay and Inverkip.

Stuart McMillan of the SNP was seeking details on the funding made available for leisure and community facilities in the town.

He said: “I was seeking information from Inverclyde Council regarding what funding was being made available for leisure and community facilities in the Wemyss Bay area. It took a Freedom of Information request to receive the information.”
