A Centre aimed at maximising the use of freedom of information legislation in Scotland is to be launched in Dundee this week.

The new Centre for Freedom of Information will be led by Dundee University’s law school and the Scottish information commissioner.

Former deputy first minister Jim Wallace, now Lord Wallace of Tankerness, will give the opening address at a seminar and conference to launch the centre on Thursday.

Professor Alan Page, dean of the law school, will be co-director of the new centre along with Scottish Information Commissioner, Kevin Dunion.
