FoI in Tasmania: Govt decision to block FoI request overturned

The Tasmanian Ombudsman has overturned the State Government's attempt to block access to documents relating to the sacking of former government staffer, Nigel Burch.

Mr Burch was sacked from the office of former Deputy Premier Steve Kons in March last year after writing a critical letter to the former Premier, Paul Lennon.

Last April the ABC applied for access to documents relating to Mr Burch's dismissal under Freedom of Information laws.
