FoI in Ireland: FoI requests fall by 27% between 2005 and 2007

The Irish Information Commissioner has reported a drop in the number of Freedom of Information requests being made over the past three years.

Emily O'Reilly says just over 10,000 requests were made last year, a decrease of 27% on the figures for 2005.

The fall is being blamed partly on the Government's decision to introduce fees for making requests.
