Perth & Kinross Council publishes FoI figures

Perth and Kinross Council received 432 Freedom of Information requests during 2007 – down markedly from the 597 in 2006 and the 611 the previous year.

Members of the council’s scrutiny committee will be told tomorrow that the figure for last year equates to a reduction of 28 per cent from the previous two years.

Of the requests received, 55 per cent were satisfied in full and a further 27 per cent were satisfied in part. The remaining 18 per cent received no information.

The predominant reasons for not supplying information were because the council didn’t have it (45 per cent); because it included personal information (18 per cent); or because it was available elsewhere (14 per cent).

Of the requests, 90 per cent were completed within the statutory 20 days.
