Army targets poorer pupils

Plaid Cymru has accused the British Army of targeting schools in poorer areas to recruit soldiers. The party claimed that figures obtained under the Freedom of Information Act showed that the most deprived schools were visited about 50 per cent more by the Army than the less deprived.

The Army denied that it recruited in schools, saying that it simply vistied the schools in order to raise awareness.
