Over 15,000 TA troops quit since beginning of Iraq war

Under the Freedom of Information Act the Ministry of Defence has been forced to admit that between October 2003 and October 2005 the number of part-time soldiers who quit the Territorial Army was 15,670.

Only 13,570 new recruits have signed up in that time - leaving a shortfall of 2,100. This leaves the TA 7000 below full strength.
