Hurricane Katrina information withheld by the Department of Homeland Security

A private public interest group, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), has sued the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) over the agency’s failure to respond to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request about Hurricane Katrina.

The request was for records and communications regarding the federal government’s preparedness for and response to hurricane Katrina. The DHS refused to supply the information.
