Information Tribunal website

The Information Tribunal is responsible for hearing appeals under the Data Protection Act 1998, the Freedom of Information Act 2000, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004. There is no equivalent tribunal in Scotland - appeals against the Commissioner's decisions (which can only be made on points of law) go straight to the Court of Session.

At present the only decisions listed on the Information Tribunal's website involve Data Protection cases:

The Chief Constables of West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and North Wales Police v The Information Commissioner (402KB)
Credit and Data Marketing Services Limited v The Data Protection Registrar (147KB)
Community Charge Registration Officer of Rhondda Borough Council v Data Protection Registrar (26KB)
Second Telecom Limited v The Data Protection Commissioner and Top 20 Limited v The Data Protection Commissioner (17KB)
Midlands Electricity plc and The Data Protection Registrar (56KB)
Linguaphone Institute Limited and The Data Protection Registrar (31KB)

Infolink Limited v The Data Protection Registrar (227KB)
Innovations Mail Order Limited v The Data Protection Registrar (126KB)
Community Charge Registration Officers of Runnymede, South Northamptonshire and Harrow Borough Councils v The Data Protection Registrar (137KB)

It is hoped that freedom of information decisions will appear on the site very soon.
