Queensland Information Commissioner's speedy FOI decision

The Queensland Information Commissioner's Office has taken 12 years to process a Freedom of Information request. The decision regarding the FOI application was referred to the Commissioner's Office for review in 1993.

State Treasurer Terry Mackenroth told the Parliament's Budget Estimates hearings that the journalist who asked for the information will now receive it even though the documents are probably no longer relevant. The documents concerned a tunnel which was being built to enable the Queen Street bus station to operate outside the Treasury Casino. The journalist who asked for the information is seemingly still interested in receiving the information.
