$400,000 FOI request
The People for the American Way Foundation has requested the US Justice Department to disclose the number of immigrants who were rounded up after the September 11 attacks. The details have never been revealed because the court records were sealed. However, the Justice Department is demanding almost $400,000 in order to comply with the request.The costly right to know (New York Times, International Herald Tribune, 3 February 2005)
