Private companies get in on the act

Businesses are being urged to use the Freedom of Information Act to get information on:
  • rival businesses with links to the public sector
  • past bids for contracts with public authorities
  • correspondence of Health Care Trusts with pharmaceutical companies
  • surveys - such as land surveys held by public bodies, their economic development plans and where they are investing.

Firms are urged to enjoy freedom of information (The Times, 2 January 2005)
